Mission statement

At Furzeham Primary and Nursery School we provide a secure, nurturing, high quality learning environment which inspires our children to develop life- long learning skills and enables them to achieve the best future outcomes. Our expectations are high; offering high quality first teaching and an enriched curriculum which engages and excites children to drive their own learning with increasing independence

Our school pursues excellence in learning and teaching encouraging every child to seek and achieve their potential within a balanced and engaging curriculum.

  • Learning centred - For children to operate as independent learners and thinkers  and to inspire a love for learning
  • Celebrate success – nurture self- esteem through the celebration of children achievements.
  • Values centred – promote Christian values and foster positive attitudes to all people, races, religions and ways of life. For children to value themselves and to develop spiritually, morally, culturally celebrating equality and diversity.
  • To provide a relevant and innovative curriculum that inspires children to achieve their best.
  • Accountable at all levels – promote collective responsibility for raised standards and improved pupil outcomes by ensuring that everyone understands their role in contributing to the success of the school.

Facilities at Furzeham

The school has recently been refurbished to the highest standard. 

  • A fully equipped IT hub with laptops.
  • High quality mini iPads and iPad to support learning in the classroom.
  • A recently refurbished hall used for indoor PE, assemblies and dining. 
  • A separate music room and excellent opportunities for instrument tuition. 
  • A cosy library with an excellent range of modern and classic books along with quality non-fiction.  
  • Access to a fully functioning ccelerated reader provision. 
  • Access to a huge playing field used for all outdoor education, athletics and team games including our annual sports days. 
  • A playground with an outdoor adventure playing equipment.  
  • Our Foundation Stage area includes our own nursery with their own outdoor play area and enclosed play area 
  • An exciting Breakfast Club and After School Club run by inspirational leaders.
